“We live in an amazing time where much of the finest and most esteemed art is available to the average first world citizen. The best books, music and films are ours to enjoy at our leisure. This is very beneficial to our entire society. However, when we look at the visual art world it seems much less advanced. Today when artworks are easily manufactured in quantity — photographs and prints — the art world still chooses to make them rare and expensive. Is this the optimum arrangement for our culture?”

Blair’s practice combines ideas and inspira- tion from the worlds of fashion, wine, music, books and film into new ways of thinking about art that could move us closer to a more democratic and advanced visual art world.
